In the most recent match, the viewers witnessed a new form of shock when an appeal was made against Digvesh Rathi and his fine was related to the way he celebrated the game. Singh's celebration, in which he dismissed Priyansh Arya, was earlier accompanied with undue excitement that the referees labeled as “excessive celebration," and once again Singh had been fined.

Fine and Demerit Point Issued

As he had indeed been fined, Rathi was issued a 25% fine of his match fees along with a demerit mark for allegedly unsporting behaviors. It was determined that his unsporting show of an Aryan celebration has breached the rules of conduct of sporting professionals. The authorities reiterated the necessity of some semblance of discipline in the game with respect to the antagonistic side.The difference between his celebration and his Aryan celebration is clearly where discipline is required which was beyond the limit for any sportsman.

It looks like cricket is so far failing to address the continuous anger fueled by excessive celebration of most players. They are not alone as other sportspersons have also been captured and culprits of being fined variable amounts of money. Only recently Ishant Sharma was fined for 15% of his match fees due to his aggressive unreasonable sendoff of a rival player and also Virat Kohli was encouraged to part with 20% of his fees due to breaches against a fan rule of not having contact a physical encounter with a new debutant.
