During the second qualifier of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, the Trinbago Knight Riders locked horns with Saint Lucia Kings at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The David Wiese-led side won the toss and decided to bowl first, expecting the surface to get better in the second innings for batting.

Both sides went with an unchanged playing eleven for the contest. The eyes were on the Knight Riders, who came into the clash after a comfortable victory against the Antigua Barbuda and Falcons during the eliminator, while Saint Lucia Kings faced a defeat against Guyana Amazon Warriors in the first qualifier.

Trinbago Knight Riders cream their way to 194/4

After Colin Munro went back to the dressing room early in the innings, the top order took full responsibility in the batting department. Alex Hales remained undefeated on 58 runs in 44 balls at a strike rate of 131.20 with the help of two boundaries and four sixes. Their captain, Nicholas Pooran, clubbed 50 runs in 32 balls at a strike rate of 156.25, shouldering on five boundaries, fours, and sixes.

Saint Lucia Kings struggle to face 56-run defeat

The 59-run opening stand of the Kings in nine overs laid a decent platform for the chase, but that wasn’t going to be enough in the second innings. The wicket-keeper opening batter, Tim Seifert, scored 57 runs in 40 deliveries at a strike rate of 142.50.

However, their middle order didn’t click at all in the batting department and got restricted to 138/8 in their 20 overs. Usman Tariq picked up four wickets while Sunil Narine ended with figures of 3/18 in four overs.

It was the first qualifier of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 between the Saint Lucia Kings and Guyana Amazon Warriors at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The Kings’ captain, David Wiese, has won the toss and decided to bowl first on a surface which was anticipated to get slow in the second innings.

Saint Lucia made two changes in the playing eleven for the clash as Tymal Mills and Alzarri Joseph replaced Keon Gaston and Delano Potgeiter. On the other hand, Guyana dropped Shamar Joseph and brought back Hassan Khan for the contest.

Guyana Amazon Warriors bundled out for 157 in first innings

Ben McDermott clubbed a decent knock of 34 runs in 27 balls at a strike rate of 125.93 with the help of five boundaries and one six. But none of the batters played an exceptional knock in the middle order of the innings. Their wicket-keeper batter, Shai Hope, struggled for his 32 runs in 29 balls with just two fours.

On the 29th encounter of the 2025 season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Saint Lucia Kings locked horns with the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the penultimate encounter of the edition at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. The visiting captain, David Wiese, won the toss and decided to bat first.

Saint Lucia had already qualified for the qualifier one stage, and that pushed them to rest their premier pacer, Alzarri Josep, with Keon Gaston coming into the side. On the other hand, for the Warriors, Shamarh Brooks was included in place of Keemo Paul in the eleven.

Roston Chase’s 90* shoulders Saint Lucia Kings to 185/4

It wasn’t a good start in the first four overs of the innings for the Kings, who lost their first two wickets. Ackeem Auguste nailed a fine knock of 50 runs in 30 balls at number three, with the help of three boundaries and three sixes. However, the biggest contribution to the innings came from their experienced campaigner, Roston Chase.

After a day’s break and a wash-out contest of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots locked horns with Saint Lucia Kings at Warner Park, Basseterre, in St Kitts. The home side captain, Jason Holder, won the toss and decided to bowl first, following the general trend of the event.

Patriots made one change by bringing in Navian Bidaisee in place of Alick Athanaza, while the David Wiese-led side was boosted with the return of Tim David, who was in incredible form after the end of the home T20I series against South Africa.

Saint Lucia Kings fire their way to 200/8

It wasn’t a great start for the tourists when they lost two wickets in three overs, with Ackeem Auguste getting a first-ball duck. But Johnson Charles roared with a fine half-century and ended with 52 runs in 28 balls at a strike rate of 185.71, thanks to four boundaries and as many over boundaries.

Roston Chase was incredible with the bat, drilling another great knock of 61 runs in 38 balls at a strike rate of 160.53, smashing eight boundaries and one six. David scored 46 runs in 23 balls at a strike rate of 200 with one four and five sixes to carry the Kings to 200/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

Kyle Myers, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Waqar Salamkheli picked up two wickets each in the bowling department.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots fall short in nail-biter by 3 runs

It was nearly the same struggling beginning for the home side in the chase as they lost four wickets on the opening ball of the ninth over. However, Jason Holder and Navian Bidaisee put up a fine partnership of 77 runs for the fifth wicket. The former clubbed 63 runs in just 29 balls with three fours and six over boundaries at a strike rate of 217.

Navaian Bidasisee was the only hope for the home side in the chase, but he failed on the last ball of the second innings with 50 runs in 36 balls at a strike rate of 138.89. When they needed four runs on the last delivery, he got out as the Kings earned a victory by three runs.
