In their inaugural IPL season, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) made the playoffs. However, KL Rahul’s side was defeated by RCB in the Eliminator.
The LSG administration, led by coach Andy Flower, mentor Gautam Gambhir, and captain KL Rahul, released a number of players, including several well-known T20 players.
They will aim to improve these released players and fill the remaining gaps in their roster in the next IPL 2023 mini-auction. After releasing these players, they get a magnificent compensation of INR 23.35 crore. Here are the three players LSG would like to acquire in the forthcoming auction.
LSG will be looking for new ball bowlers in the auction after releasing both Holder and Chameera. They would want someone who can also bat. Ben Stokes comes in as a viable possibility.

Stokes’ utility as a middle-order hitter in T20 cricket was demonstrated during the T20 World Cup when he led England home in challenging par run-chases against Sri Lanka and in the final against Pakistan.
Furthermore, Stokes was frequently deployed for an over or two with the new ball before coming in to bowl an over or two as a middle-overs enforcer and hammer it into the pitch. Stokes would help LSG with two issues.
Chris Lynn has 1329 runs in 42 IPL games, averaging 34.08 and hitting 10 fifties. He can play the position of an explosive opener and is an excellent backup option for skipper KL Rahul and Proteas captain Quinton de Kock. LSG can give the opener a go by acquiring him in the IPL Auction 2023.
LSG is a franchise that is definitely seeking an international pace-bowling all-rounder. Lucknow Super Giants team has shockingly let go of the seasoned Jason Holder, even though the West Indian picked up 14 wickets but was pricey and contributed nothing with the bat. LSG would then like a true all-rounder to replace Holder in the XI, someone who can bowl 2-3 overs and slog. Cameron Green is a good fit.
