IPL 2024: key points, Match 32, GT vs DC

Delhi Capitals showed their strength with a convincing six-wicket win against Gujarat at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. Delhi’s excellent play boosted their chances in the tournament, while Shubman Gill‘s team faced disappointment and needed to bounce back after their Net Run Rate took a hit. Sumit Kumar played a key role in Delhi’s victory, helping them chase down the 90-run target in just 8.5 overs and dealing a big blow to Gujarat.

Delhi snatches the win with amazing performance

In the match, Delhi got off to a strong start with Jake Fraser-McGurk’s aggressive batting, supported by Abishek Porel and Shai Hope. Rishabh Pant and Sumit Kumar then finished the job quickly to secure the win. Meanwhile, Delhi’s bowlers dominated, with Mukesh Kumar taking three wickets, Ishant Sharma and Tristan Stubbs taking two each, and Axar Patel and Khaleel Ahmed taking one each.

On the other hand, Gujarat struggled, posting their lowest total of the season. Rashid Khan’s 31 runs were the highlight of their batting struggles. Despite some efforts in bowling, Gujarat couldn’t avoid a heavy defeat against Delhi’s strong performance.

Jake Fraser-McGurk gives a perfect start

Delhi Capitals got off to a fiery start as Sandeep Warrier faced the brunt of Jake Fraser-McGurk’s aggressive batting. The first ball of the innings saw Fraser-McGurk smash a massive six over the sightscreen, followed by a boundary off the fourth ball. However, Spencer Johnson managed to break the partnership, dismissing Fraser-McGurk for a crucial wicket.

Despite the setbacks, Rishabh Pant’s six off Rashid Khan’s delivery kept Delhi’s hopes alive. Eventually, Delhi Capitals successfully chased down the 90-run target in just 8.5 overs, securing a six-wicket victory over Gujarat.
