Punjab Kings secured a thrilling three-wicket win over Gujarat Titans in an intense IPL 2026 clash. Chasing a target of 163, PBKS reached 165/7 in 19.1 overs, driven by a match-winning innings from Cooper Connolly. After choosing to bowl first, Punjab did well to contain Gujarat to a manageable total. The chase, however, was far from smooth as wickets kept falling at crucial intervals. Despite the pressure, Connolly held his nerve and guided the innings smartly. The contest remained evenly poised throughout, with momentum shifting between both sides before Punjab eventually sealed the victory.
Gujarat Titans posted 162/6 in their 20 overs, with key contributions from Shubman Gill (39) and Jos Buttler (38). Although they had a steady powerplay, they failed to accelerate significantly in the middle phase. Punjab’s bowling unit played a crucial role, with Vijaykumar Vyshak picking up three wickets and Yuzvendra Chahal adding two more. Vyshak’s timely breakthroughs in the death overs restricted Gujarat’s scoring, while Chahal’s wickets disrupted important partnerships. Tight spells from other bowlers ensured Gujarat couldn’t push towards a bigger total.

Punjab’s chase began on a shaky note, losing early wickets including Priyansh Arya. Prabhsimran Singh then provided momentum with a quickfire 37, but it was Connolly who anchored the innings with a composed 72 off 44 balls. Even as wickets fell around him, he maintained control and paced the chase perfectly. Contributions from Shreyas Iyer and a late cameo by Xavier Bartlett helped PBKS cross the line. Despite Prasidh Krishna picking up three wickets, Gujarat couldn’t stop Punjab from completing a hard-fought win.
