Venkatesh Iyer Is Ready To Take A Big Leap Forward

During the of IPL 2025 Mega Auction, the then defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders made a bold move by investing a massive INR 23.75 crore to retain Venkatesh Iyer. The decision highlighted their intent to build the batting core around him, but it also came with immense expectations.

Unfortunately, the move didn’t yield the desired results. Iyer struggled to find form throughout the season, failing to live up to his hefty price tag. In 11 matches, he managed only 142 runs at an average of 20, as KKR endured a disappointing campaign and exited in the league stage. His underwhelming performances made the signing one of the more questionable high-value investments of the season.
