Appointed as head coach ahead of the franchise’s debut season in 2022, Ashish Nehra played a key role in building a balanced and confident squad from the outset. His calm leadership and clear communication helped create a positive team environment, allowing players to perform with freedom and clarity.
Working closely with captains like Hardik Pandya and currently with Shubman Gill, Nehra emphasised the importance of smart decision-making and adaptability on the field. Under his guidance, the Gujarat Titans won the IPL title in their very first season and reached the final again in 2023, establishing themselves as an immediate force in the league and have qualified for the playoffs three times out of the four outings.
