3 reasons why Keacy Carty can be good fit for Knight Riders in IPL as well

Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) got a clean win over Antigua & Barbuda Falcons (ABF) on Game 14 of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League (CPL 2025). Keacy Carty's 60 off 45 drove the win towards the victory. After the match, TKR claimed the second spot of the points table. It was their 3rd win playing after four matches. 

Accompanied by Alex Hales, West Indies batter Keacy Carty was in full flow while chasing a target of 147 runs. Carty, during his innings, smashed four boundaries and a couple of over-boundaries. He displayed mental maturityas a batter. Trinbago Knight Riders, a sister franchise of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), can consider the batter for the upcoming IPL season as well. 

3 reasons why KKR should consider Keacy Carty in IPL 2026 as well:

A Top Order Batting Option: Last season, KKR dealt with multiple batting failures on repeated occasions. At the top half of the middle-order, the Kolkata Knight Riders had Ajinkya Rahane, Angkrish Raghuvanshi, or Venkatesh Iyer, depending on the situation of the match. Rahane, captain of KKR for IPL 2025, batted well enough. But he is not the kind of batter who is known for his swashbuckling style or hard-hitting abilities. Iyer proved to be one of the big flops of the season, and Raghuvanshi was not consistent. So, KKR needs someone who can steer innings after the departures of the openers.

Reserve Bench: For IPL 2025, KKR signed another West Indies international, Rovman Powell. But he got very nominal opportunities in the playing combination; in the later part of the tournament, the former West Indies skipper was ruled out because of injury. Keacy Carty can be a good option for the multi-time IPL-winning team to increase their bench strength. 

Long-Time Prospect: The 28-year-old played 4 T20Is and 40 ODIs for the West Indies. In the limited overs format, his batting average is good enough to represent any top-tier franchise league. His ODI batting average is 46.71, and his T20I average stands at 26.50. As his age is under thirty, and the ability to play long-run innings makes Carty a long-time prospect and an 'X'-factor.
