Mumbai Indians: Throughout the years, Mumbai Indians has produced some of the best Indian cricket talents, like Jasprit Bumrah and Suryakumar Yadav. There are around 20 players from Mumbai Indians who have been able to make their way from club cricket to the dressing room of Team India. Today, in this article, we’ll talk about 5 talents, brought under the spotlight by the Mumbai-based franchise, now out from international duties for a long time.

Sourav Tiwari: Back in 2008, when Mumbai Indians bet on a young Sourav Tiwari, it created a lot of buzz. The aggressive batter with hard-hitting abilities and shoulder-length hair is from Jharkhand as well. Mumbai Indians management landed Tiwari in 2008. The batter was a part of MI for multiple seasons and got the opportunity to play for India on October 20, 2010, vs. Australia. A cricketer with so much talent could not get the height he could have desired and retired early from cricket.

Krishnappa Gowtham: A spin bowling sensation from Karnataka, he got his much desired IPL breakthrough with the help of Mumbai Indians back in 2017 and played an ODI vs. Sri Lanka in that same year.  Gowtham played only one One Day International match in his career so far, and now he is 36.

Abhishek Nayar: Team India’s current batting coach, Abhishek Nayar, was with Mumbai Indians from 2008 to 2010. Between these two years in 2009, he broke through to Team India and played against the West Indies.

Dhawal Kulkarni: Another highly talented cricketer from Mumbai who could not live with the expectations. In his prime time he was a regular member on the field for his state team. In 2008, Kulkarni got associated with MI, and from then, he was with the team for multiple seasons. Kulkarni’s luck shined when he got a call for international duty in 2014. From 2014 to 2016, he represented his country over ten matches and claimed 19 wickets as well.

Krunal Pandya: The highly rated all-rounder joined Mumbai Indians in 2016, and wasting no time, he showed his class in his debut season for MI. Kieron Pollard batting with Krunal was like a nightmare for opposition bowlers. Pandya was an integral part of the team from 2016 to 2021. He played his first international match in 2018 and has played only 5 ODIs so far.
