Aaryavir Sehwag & Anvay Dravid picked in India's U-19 one-day squad for Australia series

The one-day side of India’s U-19 team has included Aaryavir Sehwag and Anvay Dravid, the sons of the former Indian captain- Virender Sehwag and Rahul Dravid, respectively. Anvay was part of the Sri Lanka side in July and smashed 87 runs in the second one-day game as he is one of the two wicket-keepers alongside Rajat Baghel for the Australia series. 

Lakshya Raichandani will lead the U-19 team in the ODI series for India against Australia at home with Yashbardhan Chauhan as his deputy. The roles will be reversed for the multi-day fixtures.

Raichandani heads into the series after a strong tour of Sri Lanka, where he finished as the leading run-getter in the two-match four-day series with 307 runs at an average of 153.60. He smashed a dashing knock of 207 in Galle, before scoring an unbeaten 100 in Colombo.  

Raichandani was one of the Indian batters to make a massive impact in Sri Lanka. Sagar Virk also nailed 134, while Manal Chauhan came up with 150 along with Kushagra Ojha’s 111 in the second innings.

Junior Sehwag has got his maiden call-up to the Indian U-19 side, as he is currently featuring in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026. The four-day squad has multiple players who have featured in the one-day team, including Rohit Yadav, Yashbardhan Ojha, and Raichandani.

The three one-day games will be played on September 18, 21, and 23, while the multi-day fixtures are scheduled for September 27 to 30, and the second for October 05 to 08. All the encounters for India except the second four-day game, which will be arranged in Ahmedabad, will be held in Rajkot.
