AB de Villiers proved again and again that class is permanent. In the ongoing World Championship of Legends 2025 (WCL 2025), the legendary figure of South African cricket smashed another century in the tournament.

After England legends, Villiers smashed another lightning-quick century, this time against the Australia Champions team. Today (July 27, 2025), the South Africa Champions and the Australia Champions were up against each other for a high-octane match. After a few deliveries in the initial stage of the game, AB de Villiers started to show his true colors. He cleared his intentions from the beginning by taking on Brett Lee earlier in the match. In an over of Peter Siddle, he smashed 16 runs, and then in 22 balls, the South African completed his half century.

After reaching the 50-run milestone, he shifted his gears to generate more pace. The former international brought up his century off 39 balls. When Villiers went back to the hut, he had 123 off 46 balls, powered by 15 fours and eight sixes. His opening partner, JJ Smuts, scored 85 off 53.

The former SA international now leading the race

Before the Australia Champions team, it was the England Champions who first found them in the Villiers-storm in the tournament. Against England, he slammed a 41-ball century and remained unbeaten on 116* off just 51 balls with 15 fours and seven monstrous sixes.

After smashing two back-to-back centuries, the former South international now leads the top run scorers chart of WCL 2025. So far, the 41-year-old has bagged 303 runs from four innings at an average of 151.5, including two tons and a half century.
