Abhishek Kumar Dalhor, the find of Majhi Mumbai in the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL), has been recruited by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) as a net bowler for the current Indian Premier League (IPL) season. With his piercing pace and match-winning all-rounder ability, Abhishek's signing up with KKR marks yet another feather in his motivational cricketing journey.

In the last two seasons of the ISPL, Abhishek has been the league's most attacking player. Indeed, he became the most costly purchase in ISPL history and justified his price tag with consistent performances. Playing under the Majhi Mumbai brand owned by Amitabh Bachchan, he played a crucial role in their championship-winning season 2 earlier this year. Across the two seasons and 19 games, the Ambala-born cricketer scored 324 runs and took 33 wickets to earn Player of the Tournament in Season 1 and Best Bowler for Season 2.

What is even more surprising about Abhishek's success is his humble beginning. Born to a middle-class family in Haryana, he started playing street tennis-ball cricket like any other young cricketer. He spent his formative cricketing years playing local tournaments across the nation, where he started gaining a reputation as a player of raw talent and grit over time.

From Street Cricket to IPL - A Dream Realized

The ISPL became a landmark in Abhishek's life and gave him a professional platform to demonstrate his skills at the national level. Being picked by the KKR franchise as a net bowler is a resounding validation of ISPL's vision of unearthing cricketing talents from grassroots talent pools. The league, India's first organized tennis-ball T10 league, continues to revolutionize the cricketing world by giving less-known players a platform to excel.
