Abhishek Sharma and Hardik Pandya ruled out of Asia Cup 2025 final? Know their latest fitness update
Ahead of the final of the Asia Cup 2025 against final in Dubai, India sweat over the fitness condition of the two players of the Indian side, Abhishek Sharma and Hardik Pandya, as the latter could get ruled out of the final clash.

Just a day before the final of the Asia Cup 2025 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, India sweated for the fitness of their premier all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, and the aggressive opening batter, Abhishek Sharma, as they left the field for significant portions of the second innings in Dubai due to cramps, as India’s bowling coach, Morne Morkel, revealed.
Morkel revealed that even though Abhishek Sharma would do fine, Hardik is expected to get assessed on the eve of the Pakistan game. Abhishek smashed 61 runs in 31 balls at a strike rate of 196.77 with the help of eight boundaries and two sixes, while Hardik ended with 1/7 in the only over of the inning.
“Hardik, I know we'll assess sort of tonight and tomorrow morning, and we'll make a call on that. Abhishek is fine. Both of them were just struggling with cramps. The key for the boys is to rest. They're already all in the ice baths, and the recovery sort of started straight away after the game. And the best way to recover is to sleep and to stay off your feet.” Morkel expressed in the press conference.

Abhishek is the leading run-getter of the tournament with 309 runs in six innings at an average of 51.50 and a strike rate of 204.64, scoring 31 boundaries and 19 sixes. Hardik is sharing the new ball with Jasprit Bumrah.
“When they wake up tomorrow, I'm pretty sure there will be a pool session, an individual pool session for the guys, organized. And then from there, it's just getting a flush from the masseuses, getting massages, and getting themselves mentally ready for a big battle on Sunday.” Morkel addressed the press conference.
If Hardik gets ruled out of the final, then it will be a challenge for the management to get a balanced eleven. Arshdeep Singh could continue to be part of the eleven and share the new ball with Jasprit Bumrah, who will come back for the final.
