Indian T20I opener Abhishek Sharma suffered a controversial dismissal when his IPL team SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced the hosts Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2026 match on Thursday (April 2). That dismissal came in very crucial time, as cricket fans are confused with that controversial dismissal.
After KKR sent SRH to bat first, SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma provided a strong start, as their strong batting performances helped the visitors to manage 84 for one at the end of the powerplay. While Head was dismissed for 46 off 21 balls (six fours and three sixes), as he had an 82-run partnership for the first wicket, Abhishek also produced a similar performance with the bat.
Before his dismissal in the ninth over, Abhishek scored 48 off 21 balls with four fours and four sixes. Zimbabwe pacer Blessing Muzarabani, who just dismissed the SRH stand-in captain Ishan Kishan in that same ninth over, delivered a good-length ball at the leg side, which Abhishek slammed to deep square leg. While the ball was dipping, Varun Chakravarthy dived low to grab that ball. After closely looking several times at the replay, it was given out, while the SRH opener was frustrated with that dismissal.
