Ajinkya Rahane has been prominent player in IPL where has given his services to various IPL team since his inception from 2011.Rahane started his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals where he stood our by his batting consistency and the potential of nuturing the innings which is considered as his best compactibility. Over the years Rahane has played with various teams Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and now for Kolkata Knight Riders. 

Rahane played his last IPL tournament for Chennai Super Kings franchise where his fearless contribution in 2023 made them 5 time IPL Champions along with Mumbai Indians.  Rahane was picked by Kolkata at the price of 1.5 crore in this year's mega auction stating the amount of experience he possesses is valuable for the team. Rahane as a batsman improved a lot with his attacking ability in T20s.

Rahane Change in dilema

Rahane has played some exceptional innings for his playing franchises in IPL. Being a top order batsman and that too in t20s anchoring an innings was a false statement you have to go with the flow which Rahane lacked immensely though being technically sounded but fast pace of the game demanded more from him. Thats why he was not been able to be a permanent member of many franchise for a long tenure period. 

In 2023 too Chennai picked Rahane for the base price of 50 Lakh which proved a real worth for them. Rahane at number 3 played some exceptional innings for them, even the more noticeable thing was his strike rate which was above 150 and the way of scoring runs was immediate even though he got praises for his playing style as Rahane 2.0. In 2024 he gave some significant performance but as a team, they weren't able to play collectively which caused Csk to be out of group stages for 1st time. 

Rahane Creates History By Leading Three Teams

In this Rahane has been acquired by Kolkata which was the steal price and appointed as the captain of the team. Champion Kolkata let go of their ex-captain Shreyas Iyer. Iyer was very disturbed by the credibility issues and was bought by Punjab Kings for 26.5 crores. Kolkata going to play its season opener on 22 March against Royal Challengers Banglore and in that match, Rahane is going to create history to be being the first Indian to lead three IPL franchises.

As earlier he led Rising Pune Super Giants in 2017 and he led Rajasthan Royals in the 2019 season which was later given to Steve Smith. Earlier three overseas players did this where Sangakkara, Jayawardene and Steve Smith.
