Akriti Agarwal announces separation with fiance Prithvi Shaw

The star Indian opening batter, Prithvi Shaw, and the social media personality, Akriti Agarwal, have announced their separation just months after their engagement. Just six months ago, they publicly declared their relationship in March 2026 on social media platforms.

Shaw has also deleted all of his Instagram posts regarding his engagement and the relationship with Akriti. The 26-year-old hasn’t featured for the Indian side for more than five years. He, however, has already featured for the national side across the three formats of the game.

What exactly did Akriti Agarwal write in her statement?

Akriti confirmed the separation news through a statement on Instagram, highlighting that the decision was mutual and came after the pair realised that their goal for the future were different.

“With a heavy heart, I would like to share that my fiancé and I have decided to part ways due to different goals and circumstances for our future.” Akriti wrote on her Instagram account.

“As much as we love and care for each other, we've come to accept that our paths are not meant to be together. With our responsibilities and the circumstances we are currently facing, we have mutually decided to go our separate ways.” She wrote on social media.

Akriti hoped Prithvi would move forward separately, while she noted that they had accepted that continuing the relationship was no longer the right path.

“I genuinely wish nothing but the best, peace, and happiness for both of us as we move forward. I kindly request everyone to respect our privacy during this difficult time and refrain from speculating or making assumptions about the reasons behind our decision. Thank you for understanding and respecting our space.” She concluded.

When did Prithvi Shaw and Akriti Agarwal get engaged?

Prithvi and Akriti announced their engagement in March this year. The star player shared photographs from their ceremony on social media, in a way making the relationship public. She attracted attention after sharing a cryptic post on the socials about being cheated on.

The post had triggered speculation about her relationship with the Indian star. Agarwal later clarified that the post wasn’t related to the player but was about her friends.

Her latest statement now confirms that they have moved on from their past relationship and engagement. Shaw, meanwhile, played recently in the Duleep Trophy for the West Zone and is likely to be back in domestic cricket for Maharashtra.
