Star Lucknow Super Giants all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar continued his good form in the DY Patil T20 Tournament with a strong all-round performance. His efforts helped DY Patil Blue beat the Indian Navy cricket team by five wickets in the 20th DY Patil T20 Cup on Thursday, February 26.

Arjun took one wicket and scored 55 runs to win the Man of the Match award. He played some powerful shots under pressure and guided his team to victory.

Meanwhile, the son of legendary Indian batter Sachin Tendulkar is also in the news for his pre-wedding celebrations. The pre-wedding events of Arjun Tendulkar and Saaniya Chandhok have started in Jamnagar. The couple is expected to marry in the first week of March. They were seen taking blessings from members of the Tendulkar, Chandhok, and Ambani families in a warm and traditional ceremony.

Batting first, the Indian Navy scored 219/4 in 20 overs. Kumar Pathak made 87 runs off 53 balls with 11 fours and three sixes. Nitin Tanwar scored an unbeaten fifty, and Nakul Sharma played a quick cameo to set a big target for DY Patil Blue. Arjun Tendulkar, Puneet Datey, Mayank Yadav, and captain Shashank Singh took one wicket each.

DY Patil Blue Chase Down Big Target in Thrilling Win

Chasing 220 runs, DY Patil Blue had a poor start. Mohit Jangra dismissed Yash Dhull for 12 runs in the third over. After that, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi played an explosive innings. The young batter scored 63 runs off just 19 balls, hitting seven fours and five sixes.

Vaibhav, who turns 15 on Friday, also smashed a 14-ball half-century. In one over against Varun Choudhary, he scored 20 runs with three fours and a six. He continued his attack in the next over against Mohit Jangra, hitting a six, four, two, and another six. However, Amit Shukla dismissed him in the seventh over.

Jitesh Sharma scored only 3 runs, and Shashank Singh also could not contribute much with the bat.

Arjun Tendulkar Finishes the Game in Style

After losing quick wickets in the middle overs, DY Patil Blue still needed many runs. Arjun Tendulkar then played a brilliant knock under pressure. Batting at number seven, he scored an unbeaten 55 runs off 29 balls at a strike rate of 189.66. He hit seven fours and two sixes and finished the match with a six on the first ball of the final over.

The DY Patil T20 Tournament is held every year before the IPL season. It started in 2003 and is known for featuring many top players.

The Indian Premier League 2026 season is expected to begin on March 26. It may be held in two phases because of the upcoming assembly elections.

Arjun will play for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026. He joined the team from the Mumbai Indians at his base price of Rs 30 lakh.

He took his first IPL wicket against Sunrisers Hyderabad when he dismissed Bhuvneshwar Kumar. That wicket helped the Mumbai Indians win the match by 14 runs.
