While the three-match ODI series is level at 1-1, India and South Africa are facing each other in the last game of the series at Vizaq on Saturday (December 6). The Men in Blues finally ended their poor toss luck as the Indian stand-in skipper KL Rahul won the toss and chose to bowl first. It was India’s first toss win in their last 21 ODIs, as their 20-match toss losing streak started from the Final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.

IND vs SA, 3rd ODI: Ryan Rickelton made ODI return
Hosts India got the success in the first over of the series decider, as Ryan Rickelton’s comeback faded. While he was dismissed for a duck in the first ODI, he was dropped in the second ODI, but he returned to the series decider due to forced injury changes in the playing XI.

Both left-handed batters, Quinton de Kock and Ryan Rickelton, opened the innings. While De Kock opened his innings on the first ball of the match, Ryan Rickelton started with three dots. On the fifth ball of the first over of the match, Arshdeep Singh took the first wicket, as Rickelton was caught behind. It was a full-length delivery and got some lateral movement away from Rickelton, as his drive resulted in an early success for the hosts in the series decider.
The first over of the match ended with South Africa's score of 1/1. Once again, Rickelton was dismissed for a duck.
