A crucial match for South Africa and Australia, both teams will try to win the 2nd of the 3-game T20I series as the series hangs in the balance. Australia, who won the first match of the competition, will try to make it 2-0 by winning back-to-back two consecutive matches. For South Africa, it is their opportunity to make a comeback. In the first match of the bilateral contest, South Africa bowled brilliantly and took all of Australia's 10 wickets, which is rare in T20Is. But the Proteans lacked in their batting and allowed the home team to take the match away from them.

Toss update and team news

Australia won the toss, and Mitchell Marsh, their skipper, chose to field first on a fresh surface of TIO Stadium.

After winning the toss, Marsh said, "We saw a lot of dew in the second half of the last game. It was a great defensive effort from the bowlers in the previous game." He further informed that Australia made a couple of changes in the combination, with Sean Abbott coming in for Nathan Ellis, Josh Inglis out with the flu, and Alex Carey coming in to replace him.
