Bangladeshi all-rounder Nasir Hossain in big trouble, can face long-term prison
Nasir Hossain and his wife Tamima Sultana Tammi can face a long-term prison for a court case running related to Tamima's first marriage.

The 34-year-old Bangladesh all-rounder Nasir Hossain is in big trouble, as he can even face prison for a long-term.
While Nasir Hossain hasn't served for the Bangladesh national cricket team for almost a decade, he is in the news for personal family reasons. According to local news reports, Nasir's wife Tamima Sultana Tammi has been accused of not divorcing her first husband Rakib Hasan. Nasir and Tamima married in February 2021, while Tamima's previous husband brought the accusation in the same year.
Meanwhile, Tamima, who was an air hostess of Saudi Airlines, started in July 2015, has claimed that she divorced Rakib in December 2016. It also set more than a four-year gap between her divorce from Rakib and her marriage to Nasir. Tamima further added that Nasir didn't entice her in any way or have any physical relationship before the marriage.

Tamima's cross-examination will be completed on April 8, while Nasir will also get an opportunity to put his points on this matter. However, if both of them are found guilty, both can reportedly face up to seven years in prison.
Nasir Hossain's international career
Nasir made his international cricket debut at the age of 19. While he served the national team last time in January 2018, he has played 19 Tests, 65 ODIs, and 31 T20Is. The right-handed batter has scored 1044 Test runs, 1281 ODI runs, and 370 T20I runs. In both Test and ODI careers, Nasir recorded one century and six half-centuries in each format, as the right-handed batter's highest score in both formats is 100. He also recorded two half-centuries in T20I cricket.
In the meantime, as an off-spinner, Nasir recorded eight Test wickets, 24 ODI wickets, and seven T20I wickets.
In January 2023, Nasir was banned from all forms of cricket by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for two years for breaching the Emirates Cricket Board's Anti-Corruption Code during the 2020-21 Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Nasir is still active in the game, as he scored 158 runs in seven innings in the Bangladesh Premier League 2025-26 season (BPL 2025-26). He scored one half-century in that tournament, which was the match-winning 90 not out for Dhaka Capitals against Noakhali Express. He also took five wickets in that tournament.
