The Sydney Thunder (THU) will host the Hobart Hurricanes (HUR) in Match 21 of the Big Bash League 2025-26 at the Sydney Showground Stadium on Saturday, January 3.

The Sydney Thunder are having a dismal season so far. They have won only one of their five matches so far and are coming into this game after back-to-back losses against the Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Stars. Led by David Warner, the Thunder will be under pressure and badly need a win to stay competitive in the tournament.

The Hurricanes, on the other hand, are playing like defending champions. Having won four out of their six matches so far, they are currently placed second on the points table. They could go to the top if they win this match, and that's something they'll be very confident of pulling off.

THU vs HUR: Pitch Report

The pitch at the Sydney Showground Stadium usually assists the batters early in the match, especially during the first innings. It tends to slow down later, and that makes the run chases pretty difficult. Teams batting first have often posted big totals here, and so, captains may prefer to bat first after winning the toss.
