BCCI announces dates and venues for WPL 2026 season
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the dates and venues for the WPL 2026.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed the dates and venues for the WPL 2026. At the beginning of the auction for the WPL 2026 on Thursday (November 27), the league chairman Jayesh George announced the tournament dates and venues.
WPL 2026 will be the fourth season of the tournament, where the two-time champions Mumbai Indians (2023 and 2025) will participate as the defending champions. While the Royal Challengers Bengaluru were the WPL 2024 champions, Delhi Capitals finished as the runners-up in all three seasons. The other two teams are Gujarat Giants and UP Warriorz.

WPL 2026 will be played between January 9 and February 5
The Women’s Premier League (WPL) chairman Jayesh George has announced that the WPL 2026 will run between January 9 and February 5, 2026.
WPL 2026 venues
The DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where India Women recently won the historic ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 title, will host the first leg of the WPL 2026. Meanwhile, the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara will host the second half of the WPL 2026, including the Playoffs, Eliminator and Final.
As India will host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 along with Sri Lanka between February 7 and March 8, 2026, the WPL 2026 has been scheduled earlier. After the T20 World Cup 2026, India will also be busy with the IPL 2026, so the WPL window has been set earlier, as there are no major women’s cricket leagues or international fixtures that clash with the WPL.
At the end of the WPL 2026, India Women will be busy with the Australia tour, where the Women’s in Blues will play three T20Is, three ODIs, and one Test against the hosts Australia Women. This international tour will run between February 15 and March 9.
The WPL 2026 will be a huge contest, as it will give a big preparation ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which England and Wales will host between June 12 and July 5, 2026.
