BCCI to take major step against Shubman Gill? Addidas vs Nike matter sparks speculations

While Shubman Gill has been making the headlines for the past few days for his tremendous batting, a sudden controversy has sparked across social media platforms. The controversy on the internet is labelled as Adidas vs Nike. 

Currently, Adidas is the official kit manufacturer for Team India. The jersey, which Team India is using in England, contains the logo of the famous brand. Meanwhile, Gill was spotted in Nike wear, though it was not an official kit or jersey of the team. But the incident sparked speculations. People are curious to know if a player is eligible to wear something openly that is manufactured by a rival kit-making company. And can the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) take severe action against the Test team captain? 

People on the internet even wrote, "I won't be surprised if Adidas writes a stern email to BCCI informing them of this sponsor code violation." As of now, there is no such indication about a possible move from the board against Shubman Gill about the ongoing Adidas vs. Nike controversy.

India close to win the ongoing Test at Edgbaston 

Apart from the controversial part, Gill is doing exceptionally well against England. In the ongoing 2nd Test of the five-match series in Birmingham, he scored a historic 269-run innings in the first innings and a 161-run knock in the following part of the match. In the first match of the tour, which was in Leeds, the newly appointed skipper set the barriers higher after scoring 147. 

As a batsman, the 25-year-old is at the top of his game so far. But he has to prove his brilliance as a captain as well. His journey with the captain's armband could've begun with a sweet note if India had managed to win the match in Headingley. England emerged victorious after chasing a huge 371-run target. After Day 4 of the second contest, India is in the driving seat and needs only 7 wickets to claim the first victory of Captain Shubman Gill's era in Tests.
