The T20I captain of the Indian cricket team, Suryakumar Yadav, has disclosed the batting order of the blue briagde, heading into their opening encounter on February 07 against United States of America (USA).

India’s captain, Suryakumar Yadav, has disclosed the batting order of the blue brigade on the eve of their opening game against the United States of America at the T20 World Cup 2026 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. He confirmed that Ishan Kishan would be opening the batting with Abhishek Sharma.
Ishan Kishan grabbed the chances with a century in the fifth and final T20I of the series against New Zealand and continued the same onslaught in the warm-up contest against South Africa at the DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. Tilak Varma is almost certain to replace Washington Sundar in the eleven.

“The way he has played in the last few games and also in domestic cricket, he has been playing the same way. He opened in the warm-up. Hope he bats the same way wherever he plays. He won’t be playing below number three. Are you enjoying watching the fours and sixes being hit or not?” Suryakumar Yadav expressed in the press conference.

The Indian skipper was happy with the good headache to have more left-handed batters than right-handed batters in the side. He was not perplexed and pointed out the entertainment with fours and sixes that the team had been providing when asked if the left-right balance would be a concern for the team management.
“I think it is a good headache, and I feel it is an overrated conversation. At this stage, when you have played so much cricket against the left-arm spinners or off-spinners, whatever it is, you have played enough cricket, and you (also) have practiced a lot.” The Mumbai-born addressed.
“On a given day, irrespective of whether a spinner is bowling or a fast bowler is bowling to two left-handers or two right-handers, your job is to do what you (can) do (for) the best for the team, and that is what is happening.” Suryakumar Yadav concluded the press conference.
