Bengal cricketer Sudip Kumar Gharami dismissed for 299 against Andhra in Ranji Trophy 2025-26 Quarterfinal

Bengal are cruising to the Semi-finals of the Ranji Trophy 2025-26 after Sudip Kumar Gharami's unlucky 299 against Andhra, which guided them to the 600+ total in the Quarterfinal match. 

While Andhra scored 295 in the first innings after Bengal sent them to bat first, Bengal scored 629 all out in their first innings. Bengal were once battling at 153/5, but Sudip Kumar Gharami and the lower-middle-order batters guided Bengal to the big total for Bengal, as they have put one strong feet to the Semi-finals with a strong 334-run first innings lead.

Sudip Kumar Gharami, the right-handed no.3 batter, scored 299 runs in 596 balls with 31 fours and six sixes. In the 194th over, Sudip was bowled by Shaik Rasheed. Sudip became the third batter in first-class cricket history to be dismissed for 299 runs.

Sumanta Gupta scored 81 off 167 balls with nine fours and one six, while Habib Gandhi narrowly missed his maiden first-class century by scoring 95 off 229 balls with eight fours and one six. Sudip had a 165-run partnership with Sumanta for the sixth wicket and a 221-run partnership with Habib for the seventh wicket. 

Later, the Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami played a fiery knock of 31-ball 50, as he scored 53 off 33 balls with seven fours and three sixes before losing his wicket.
