DC vs MI clash builds hype ahead of IPL 2026 encounter

The social media post of Kevin Pieterson, hype around the Delhi Capitals vs Mumbai Indians match has increased. The match is scheduled to be held in Delhi on April 4.  It will be DC’s first match of the season at their home, while MI will play their first away match after defeating the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their first game of the IPL 2026 campaign at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on March 29.

In the high-scoring match, Mumbai claimed a confident win against KKR because of the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickelton. Rickelton’s 81-run knock keeps him at the top of the orange cap race, and Sharma is placed in third place for scoring 78 runs. Tilak Varma and MI captain Hardik Pandya also showed composure in their previous match.

It is going to be a very challenging encounter for DC, as they may have to keep Mitchell Starc on the sidelines. Starc is set to miss the initial games of IPL 2026 due to rehabilitation for shoulder and elbow injuries sustained during the Australian summer. It will be interesting to see whether Axar Patel and Co. hand the IPL debut to their fresh recruit Auqib Nabi, the paceman from Jammu and Kashmir, who claimed 60 wickets in 17 innings to help J&K to win their maiden Ranji Trophy after almost seven decades.
