‘Breaking few hearts..’- Mitchell Santner drops savage comment before IND vs NZ T20 World Cup 2026 Final

The captain of the New Zealand side, Mitchell Santner, has dropped a savage comment before the final of the Men's T20 World Cup 2026 against India, which will take place on Mach 08 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

New Zealand’s captain, Mitchell Santner, dropped a savage comment on the eve of the final of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Suryakumar Yadav-led side has qualified for their fourth final of the competition, having lifted the trophy twice in three attempts.

Mitchell Santner dropped a special comment of not feeling bad in breaking a few billion hearts by winning the trophy, as he addressed in the pre-match press conference. He also claimed that momentum would be a massive part of the game, as they had taken a lot of confidence before the final.

“Pretty excited. We played in India before the tournament started. It's no secret how it's going to be out there tomorrow. Boys are buzzing. It's a one-game shootout. It could be anyone's game. Momentum is a massive part. We have taken a lot of confidence.Santner said in the pre-match press conference.

Santner didn’t pick up any wickets in his four-over spell during the previous two clashes and ended up with 1/19 in four overs at an economy rate of 4.75 in Colombo. In the same encounter, the left-handed batter smashed 47 runs with the bat and contributed massively.

“I wouldn't mind winning a trophy. We are pretty consistent. It's been no different this time. If we do our little things well, it'll put us in a good position. I wouldn't mind breaking a few hearts. T20 is a fickle format. Little moments in the game can change the outcome. If we go about our business, we can upset them. India has a lot of pressure to win this. Let's see what happens.Santner informed.

“We were challenged in the bilateral series. We played on five very good surfaces. It's all learning. Good conversation from that series. The World Cup final is pretty much different.
