Breaking News: Ireland announce ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 squad

Ireland have announced their complete 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, as they are ready to challenge big teams in the forthcoming T20 World Cup. 

The Test-playing nation Ireland are ready for their ninth straight T20 World Cup, who are featuring in the tournament consistently except for the inaugural edition in 2007 in South Africa. Paul Stirling is ready to lead the Irish team in the forthcoming T20 World Cup. Out of 15 names, 12 players were present in the last edition of the T20 World Cup, which the West Indies and the United States hosted in 2024 edition. The remaining three names who didn’t participate in the last edition are Tim Tector, Ben Calitz, and Matthew Humphreys.

India and Sri Lanka are ready to host the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 between February 7 and March 8, 2026, where 20 teams will participate in the tournament. Ireland are in Group B along with the hosts Sri Lanka, who also won the title in 2014, 2021 champions Australia, Zimbabwe, and Oman. The top two teams of the final points table will advance to the Super 8 stage of the tournament. 

Ireland will play all their group stage fixture in Sri Lanka. They will start the tournament with the match against Sri Lanka on February 8, while they will then face Australia, Oman, and Zimbabwe on February 11, 14, and 17, respectively.

In the 2022 edition, Ireland had their best journey with three wins and ended in the second round group stage of that tournament (Super 12). Last edition, they failed to win a single game, as they recorded three losses, which were against India, Pakistan, and Canada, and one no result against the hosts USA. Surely, the Greens are desperate for a better and historic show in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
