It’s a see-saw situation at the moment among the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials as they are themselves not sure on what decision to take amid the handshake controversy. Earlier, the reports revealed that they would boycott the clash against the United Arab Emirates during the competition after the ICC ignored their demand and appointed match referee Andy Pycroft for the encounter.

However, a new request has been made from the PCB to delay the clash at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium by an hour, as they need to discuss the matter further. So, in what was called a potential pull-out from the competition a few hours ago has changed into an hour’s delay for the UAE clash. The entire scenario has been around the appintmnet of the ICC match referee, Andy Pycroft, for the fixture depite the demand of the PCB to remove him from their games.

The entire issue started after the handsheke controvery during their previous clash against India at the same venue. India's captain, Suryakumar Yadav, didn't shake hands with Salman Ali Agha at the toss and continued the same stance even after the end of the fixture when he crakced the winning runs and took his side off the field.

Even the other players of the Indian team went upstairs at the end of the encounter and locked themslves in the door. For most part of September 17, it was revealed that the PCB would not take part in the fixture, but later they changed the equation and left for the stadium an hour before the previously scheduled time of the game before it was pushed back by an hour.

Had Pakstan decided to pull out of the tournament or even the UAE clash, the Muhammed Waseem-led side would have qualified to the Super 4 stage of the event as they already had won the last game against Oman in Abu Dhabi. But it's clear that Pakisan will feature in the UAE clash in Pycrofts' presence.

However, for the last couple of hours, it only remains full of drama. The winning side of the PAK vs UAE clash will qualify for the Super 4 stage to meet the Suryakumar Yadav-led side.
