Breaking News!! South Africa players hospitalized in Kolkata ahead of 2nd Test vs India
The two South Africa players, right-arm off-spinner Simon Harmer and Left-arm pacer Marco Jansen, were hospitalized in Kolkata ahead of the team's trip to Guwahati for the second Test against India.

During the opening Test of the two-match series against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, the home captain, Shubman Gill, was ruled out of the game after he felt pain in his neck, having stood up after playing the sweep over the square region for a boundary. Gill immediately asked for the physio who took the batter out of the field straightaway.
The Punjab-born star batter didn’t return to bat for the rest of the game as Rishabh Pant, the wicket-keeper batter and vice-captain, led the national side for the rest of the clash. Later in the evening, Shubman Gill was hospitalized in Kolkata and was admitted under Dr. Saptarshi Basu at the Woodlands Hospital. He was released after the end of the game in afternoon.

It’s still not clear if there were any injury reports for Harmer, who picked up eight wickets during the first Kolkata Test, while the left-arm pacer Jansen also contributed with vital wickets- including the two opening batters, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal, in the second innings.
“He has acute neck pain, and we’re not allowed to go into further details about the injury. He has to continue wearing the neck collar. He has been advised to take three to four days' rest and not to take a flight. In this situation, he is not advised to travel to Guwahati. But we are monitoring his progress daily, and the picture will be clearer by Tuesday.” The reports claimed about Gill’s injury.
The second Test in Guwahati will produce spin and bounce by the pacers. That clash will begin 30 minutes earlier than the normal schedule, while the first break will be tea before they take lunch at 1:20 in the afternoon.
