Shocking incident reported from Mumbai amid IPL 2026
The Hotel authorities have revealed that Langford returned to his hotel room, which was No. 2715, on March 29 after the encounter between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. On the following day, March 30, when the receptionist tried calling his room, there was no response from the other end.

Authorities begin probe into broadcaster’s sudden death
The police have been trying to find the exact reason for the death. Ian Langford’s death has reminded everyone of the passing of Dean Jones. The former Australian batter died of a heart attack during the Indian Premier League (IPL) in September 2020 as he was working as a commentator at the time, and his sudden death shocked the cricketing world.
The DCP Zone 1, Dr. Pravin Mundhe, said that the investigation has started. The next game in the city will be between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 12. The Hardik Pandya-led side won their first home clash against Kolkata by completing the massive 221-run chase by six wickets with five balls to spare.
