The most experienced bowler of the England line-up for the fifth Test against India at the Kennington Oval in South London, Chris Woakes, seemed unlikely to bowl for the rest of the game as he was suspected to have suffered a shoulder dislocation while fielding. He chased the ball from mid-off towards the boundary towards the end of the day as his left hand appeared to slip on the damp outfield.
Once he landed awkwardly, he looked in serious pain before receiving medical attention from the physio. Later, he put on his jumper to hold the shoulder on his way to the dressing room. The home camp has declined to comment on the injury, but the veteran is likely to go for scans after receiving treatment in the dressing room.

Woakes bowled 14 overs in the day before the incident, picking 1/46, while his injury looks to put the side a bowler short in the game, The right-arm has collected 11 wickets at over 50 in the series, with 181 overs and is only the second seamer of the series along with Mohammed Siraj to play all the five Tests.
‘Definitely, I feel fresh, I feel good. I know I've only got this one game to play, so I can push the limits a bit.’ Atkinson, who perhaps will need to shoulder most of the responsibilities in the clash along with two other members, Josh Tongue and Jamie Overton, shed light, besides remarking that it would be great for the batters to hang around and give them time off the field.
The only wicket of Woakes came in the opening session of the fixture when KL Rahul looked to cut the short ball, which jagged back and took the inside edge of the blade onto the stumps to send the opening batter back in the hut.
