CPL 2025, Match 16: Trinbago Knight Riders vs Barbados Royals full match highlights and scorecard

On the 16th fixture of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025, the Trinbago Knight Riders locked horns with Barbados Royals at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad. The home captain, Nichaolas Pooran, won the toss and decided to bowl first on a surface where chasing has been a comfortable job.

The Knight Riders decided to retain the same playing eleven for the contest. On the other end, the Royals left out Johann Layne with Chris Green coming into the side after finishing his assignment from The Hundred 2025.

Barbados Royals push their way to 178/6

Barbados’ wicket-keeper batter, Quinton de Kock, has struggled for 17 runs in 15 balls at the opening position as the top three couldn’t contribute much with the bat in an aggressive manner. Kadeem Alleyne got 41 runs in just 37 balls at a strike rate of only 110 with three boundaries and one six.

Sherfane Rutherford drilled 45 runs in 22 balls at a strike rate of over 200, thanks to three boundaries and four sixes. Their captain, Rovman Powell, smacked a fine knock of 31 runs in just 15 balls with a couple of boundaries and three sixes as they posted 178/6 in their allotted 20 overs.

Trinbago Knight Riders complete easy chase by seven wickets

Both Alex Hales and Keacy Carty couldn’t add much to the scorecard before Colin Munro and captain Pooran put up a fine 93-run partnership for the third wicket to take themselves near the winning margin.

Munro, the left-handed batter, remained undefeated on 67 runs in 44 balls at a strike rate of over 150 with the help of four boundaries and as many sixes. On the other hand, Pooran remained unbeaten on 65 runs in 40 balls at a strike rate of 162.50 with one boundary and six sixes. Kieron Pollard completed 14000 T20 runs as they completed the chase by seven wickets with 13 balls to spare.
