India's ODI dressing room environment cracked up.

There were several nerves heading into the three-match ODI series between India and South Africa post the home side’s 0-2 series defeat against the Proteas in the red-ball contests. But the KL Rahul-led side’s victory in the opening fixture in Ranchi has settled the situation with no review meeting being expected on the team in near future. If it indeed happens, it will be only after the T20I series.

However, there could be a meeting on the environment of the Indian ODI side. It has been reported that the dressing room of the Blue Brigade’s Test and T20I sides is quite strong. Although cracks have started to widen up in the 50-over side, their batting coach, Sitanshu Kotak, coming into the press conference on the eve of the Test series, confirmed the denial of a review meeting.

The reports have added more spice to the story, which claimed that the relationship between their head coach- Gautam Gambhir- and the two veterans of the side- Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli- doesn’t hold the same bonding between them as it should have been. And it could make a massive impact on the future.

India’s ODI players' relationship cracked up as report reveals jaw-dropping statement

Virat Kohli registered a fine century during their last-over victory against the Proteas, while Rohit recorded a smooth half-century. Yet, there are smells of another review meeting after either the second ODI in Raipur or the third fixture in Vishakhapatnam. There is another meeting scheduled before that, which will be regarding the previous Australia series.

There was no conversation between the chief selector of the BCCI, Ajit Agarkar, and the former ODI captain, Rohit Sharma, during the trip down under. Even Kohli and Gambhir didn’t have many conversations with each other. The latter has already faced so much criticism due to their Test series defeat.

India were clinical with the bat throughout the 50 overs in Ranchi and were exceptional with the new ball in the powerplay. But they will look to bounce back with the ball in the middle overs during the second ODI in Raipur.
