The elegance of Virat Kohli showcased itself immediately when he walked to the crease in a high-scoring match being played in the evening in Dharamsala. Venkatesh Iyer was outstanding from Kohli's dismissal, scoring 73 not out off 40 balls; this helped RCB to a total of 222/4.
RCB's bowlers provided a disciplined display on a flat pitch, forcing Punjab Kings to struggle throughout and to ultimately lose by a large margin. With their sixth consecutive loss, PBKS suffered a significant setback in their pursuit of a playoff berth while RCB advanced one step closer to qualification.
