The 57th match of IPL 2025 between Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings was played at Eden Gardens ground in Kolkata. In this match, Chennai Super Kings defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by two wickets and got their third win this season. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders team has suffered their sixth defeat this season. Kolkata team had set a target of 180 runs in front of Chennai. In response, Chennai Super Kings achieved the target at the loss of eight wickets.
Talking about this match, Kolkata team batted first and scored 179 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. For the Kolkata team, captain Ajinkya Rahane played an innings of 48 runs in 33 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes. Sunil Narine scored 26 runs in 17 balls, Manish Pandey scored 36 runs in 28 balls and Russell scored 38 runs in 21 balls. For Chennai Super Kings, Noor Ahmed took four wickets for 31 runs in four overs in this match. Apart from this, Ravindra Jadeja and Anshul Kamboj also took one wicket each.
Chasing the target of 180 runs, Chennai Super Kings had a very bad start and both the team's openers Ayush Mhatre and Devin Conway returned to the pavilion without opening the account. After this, Urvil Patel played a quick innings of 31 runs in 11 balls which included four sixes. Ravichandran Ashwin was sent to bat at number four in this match but he could score only eight runs in 7 balls. Ravindra Jadeja could also score only 19 runs in 10 balls.
Chennai's team had lost five wickets for just 60 runs at one point, but after that there was a brilliant partnership of 67 runs between Shivam Dubey and Brevis. Brevis played a brilliant innings of 52 runs in this match with the help of four fours and four sixes in just 25 balls. Apart from this, Shivam Dubey scored 45 runs in 40 balls and then Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 17 runs in 18 balls to give the team victory. From the Kolkata Knight Riders team, Vaibhav Arora took three wickets by giving 48 runs in three overs. Apart from this, Harshit Rana and Varun Chakraborty also got two wickets each.
