Virat Kohli's brother drops bombshell statement.

After a few days off from his two group-stage clashes for Delhi in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT) 2025/26, Virat Kohli has returned to the park for India in the training session as he gears up for the start of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand at home from January 11. After a long time, he has posted a picture of his training session, which fires up his excitement as he heads into the new year with a new aim.

However, Virat Kohli’s brother Vikash has come out strongly in defense of the Indian great, putting a savage statement against the critics, who, according to him, rely on Kohli’s name to remain relevant in public. Even though he has not taken any name to point the message on Threads, it has gone viral on social media.

“Seems like Logon ki Dal Roto Nahi Chalti bina Virat Kohli ka naam liye hue (It seems like people can’t run their houses without taking the name of Virat Kohli.” Vikas wrote to hit out against the criticism of Virat, despite not mentioning any name.

This could be against the former Indian batter, Sanjay Manjrekar, who expressed his disappointment over Virat’s decision to step away from the longest format of the game, suggesting that the Delhi batter could have shown greater resolve by putting his hard years in the Test cricket rather than playing the ODI format, which, according to him, is the easiest in the game.

Kohli, who has already retired from the longest and shortest formats of the game, is now focused solely on the upcoming ODI World Cup 2027, which will be held in South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia. The veteran finishes 2025 with some fantastic form, thanks to his two centuries and two half-centuries in the last four ODI innings before celebrating a century and a 50 in the two group stage clashes for Delhi.

After the New Zealand series, he will get a break for over a month before returning to the field for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in defense of their trophy for the IPL 2026. Later, he will move to England for the upcoming ODI series in July.
