Dan Christian may not have gone as far as them but is still a decorated member in the Title winning list. He has been a part of some major title wins, and grew as a BBL Legend, particularly in the second half of his career.
Christian, 39 has enjoyed a career as a pure all-rounder, and was one of the best finishers in Australia in the last few years. He’s been a part of 405 T20s, with over 5000 runs and 280 wickets. He’s also played 20 ODIs, in a career that didn’t take off. In T20Is too his career was very brief with just 23 caps.
He has at least four games left, provided he is selected. This season has not been his greatest, but the last three years were incredible for a man who gave hope to players above 35. In the last two seasons, Dan Christian did it all as a finisher. Coming into bat in the last few overs, Dan Christian, with his experience regularly found the fence and took his side home in pressure encounters.
With the ball too, Dan Christian showed his class. Not the fastest, Dan Christian was pretty smart with his change of pace and did well to attack the right lines, again bowling in the later stages of the innings. With Australia struggling to find finishers, Dan Christian suddenly came up again. He found his way into the national side, and even managed to play an ODI in 2021, after a miraculous season.
His amazing season saw him make it into the T20I side too. His numbers were not the greatest, with Dan Christian showing occasional brilliance, but he still managed to make it to the Reserves for the T20 World Cup in 2021. Outside Australia, Dan Christian had another set of championships in various parts of the World.
He’s won in England, the Carribean, South Africa and Australia and also came close to winning the IPL few times. He did not grab the most attention throughout his career but retires as a BBL Legend, who does not always get the credit he deserves.
