The Hambantota Bangla Tigers, with Dasun Shanaka at the helm, got their first T-10 title in the Lanka T-10 Super League  they performed very well in the final  beating the Jaffna Titans, a team that was winning everything and had beaten them three times before, even in the league games and the first qualifying match. And they did all of this even though rain messed up the league stage games.

Batting first, Hambantota set a target of 133 runs for 6 wickets. Their bowlers performed exceptionally well, keeping Jaffna to just 107 runs. Tom Abell fought hard for Jaffna, scoring an unbeaten 54, but it wasn't enough for victory.

In his first over, England's bowler, Richard Gleeson, really made a big change by removing Jaffna's important players  Tom Kohler Cadmore and the top run-getter of the event, Kusal Mendis  then, the team's captain, Dasun Shanaka, entered into the action by dismissing Pavan Ratnayake and David Wiese, making the game more intense.

Not staying behind, Eshan Malinga and the spinner Tharindu Ratnayake included their skills too, playing a major role in pushing the Hambantota Bangla Tigers to achieve a victory by 26 runs. And it's important to note the young talents: Dhananjaya Lakshan, Shevon Daniel, and Sahan Arachchige they left their mark, proving key to their team's triumph.

Dasun Shanaka, who used to lead the national team, demonstrated how good he is with an amazing performance, both in leading and playing  this proves he's ready to return to the national team and make the people choosing the team have a good opinion of him.

After winning, he said, I hope notably positive phenomena happen for me now. I'm happy about how I did in this tournament because things have been somewhat rough for me lately. I just wanted to prove what I can do. In addition, he obtained both the Player of the Final and Player of the Tournament awards.

Shanaka said, I have been healthy and fit for a long time but my batting needed work. I got to take my turn at bat sooner during this tournament, more than I ever have in international games. This game is vitally important for my career. Scoring well here should help me feel more sure of myself and get the selectors to notice me.
