The Delhi Capitals (DC), under the leadership of Axar Patel, have made a dominating start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 with their opening victory against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, where they completed a stiff chase, despite losing several wickets inside the powerplay.

Delhi were excellent in the first half of the IPL 2025, where they looked like the favorites to be the first team to qualify for the playoffs. However, their struggle started in the second half of the event when they failed to grab the momentum, and quite surprisingly, they couldn’t qualify for the event.
