It is time for the IPL 2026, while it is not a new thing that Bollywood stars join in the IPL fever. In fact, some Bollywood actors are and were the co-owners of some IPL franchises. During the second game of the IPL 2026, where Mumbai Indians (MI) hosted Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday night (March 29), Dhurandhar actress Sara Arjun came to the stadium with her father and mother to cheer up the home team.
Wankhede Stadium is hosting the second game of the IPL 2026, where five-time champions MI are facing the three-time winners KKR. Hardik Pandya is leading the MI team, who are eyeing their sixth IPL trophy.
Due to their huge success, the Mumbai Indians have won seven trophies, five IPL trophies and two now-defunct Champions League T20s, the franchise has huge fans in the cricket world. While Sara Arjun came to the stadium wearing MI jersey, some fans feel really great about it.

Mumbai Indians playing their first IPL 2026 match
The Mumbai Indians are playing their first match of the IPL 2026 season. It is a very crucial season for them, as they won their last trophy in the IPL 2020 edition. They failed to reach the Final last five seasons, while advancing to the Playoffs for two out of the last five seasons. In the IPL 2025, they qualified for the Playoffs, as they reached Qualifier 2. However, in the penultimate game of the season, MI ended their journey by losing against the Punjab Kings by five wickets.
In the meantime, the Mumbai Indians haven't won any season openers since the IPL 2013 edition, as their last season opener victory was recorded in the 2012 season. Since then, although they have achieved many successes, they have consistently lost the season openers. So, Hardik-led MI are also eyeing breaking this frustrating season-opener record this time by beating KKR at home. Surely starting the season with a win will be a great bonus for the franchise if they achieve it in the 2026 edition.
