Match Details

  • Match: New Delhi Tigers vs Purani Dilli 6
  • Venue: Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
  • Toss Result: New Delhi Tigers won the toss and opted to bowl first
  • Match Date: Friday, August 8, 2025.

Maintaining their strong form, Purani Dilli 6 (PD) in the Delhi Premier League 2025 fetched a scintillating 10-run win against the New Delhi Tigers at the contrary edge, with scores of 200 plus being posted from either side at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The New Delhi Tigers revived well in the latter half of their innings, but PD stopped them with some stereotypically fine bowling in the death.

Purani Dilli 6 Innings: 200/6 in 20 overs

PD started off at a dream pace with the fireworks from Samarth Seth, who hammered an explosive 80 off 46 balls that included 5 fours and 6 sixes, hence laying all the dust for PD to desire. Pranav Pant, 46 off 36, kept up the momentum, while late cameos by Aarush Malhotra (15 off 12), Lalit Yadav (10 off 8), and V. Bedi (31 off 9) helped get the total over 200.

The NDT bowlers had their work cut out trying to contain PD's aggression, with only Pankaj Jaswal shining through with his figures of 3/28 in 4 overs.

PD key batting performances:

  • Samarth Seth – 80 (46)
  • Pranav Pant – 46 (36)
  • V Bedi—31(9)

NDT key bowling performances:

  • Pankaj Jaswal – 3/28 (4)
  • Prince Yadav – 2/34 (4)
  • Parth Bali – 1/35 (3)

New Delhi Tigers Innings: 190/7 in 20 Overs

Visiting 201, Nishant seemed to know he could not trust the star of the XI, as Dhruv Kaushik would out of nowhere get run out without facing the first ball of the game. Lost at 0-1, but Shivam Gupta (39 off 24) and captain Himmat Singh (30 off 17) made the score somewhat respectable during the power play by being aggressive and taking the game to Pardeep (slow ball, flight ball). Vaibhav Rawal hammered the ball all around the ground for a blistering 62 in just 35 balls, but his wicket in the 19th over proved costly for the Tigers.

Certainly, PD bowlers learned not to panic under pressure, and Udhav Mohan's 2/29 and Pardeep Parashar's 1/34 were key wickets. Particularly Yug Gupta's economical spell of 1/3 in the powerplay laid a dry opportunity for the bowlers throughout the Tigers' innings.

NDT Batting Statistical Highlights:

  • Vaibhav Rawal – 62 (35)
  • Shivam Gupta – 39 (24)
  • Himmat Singh – 30 (17)

PD Bowling Statistical Highlights:

  • Udhav Mohan – 2/29 (4)
  • Yug Gupta – 1/3 (1)
  • Rajneesh Dadar – 1/32 (4)
