North Delhi Strikers won a nail-biting contest against West Delhi Lions by a scant 11 runs in a well-contested game held at Arun Jaitley Stadium. After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, North Delhi Strikers ended up scoring 165/9 in their allotted 20 overs, courtesy of Vaibhav Kandpal’s impressive 55 and Arjun Rapria’s entertaining knock of 40 off only 22 balls. West Delhi Lions showed great resolve in their run chase, with Ayush Doseja scoring a fabulous 65 off 54 balls; however, some important wickets and a brilliant performance from Deepanshu Gulia (3/43) helped North Delhi Strikers to edge their opponent. The West Delhi Lions finished their innings with 154/8, leaving them 11 runs short of victory after a very good run chase.

North Delhi Strikers started their innings relatively slowly and began to lose wickets early in their innings as they passed the powerplay. Vaibhav Kandpal played superbly for his 55 (55 balls) to stabilize the innings, along with Yajas Sharma (23 off 15), who contributed effectively. Sarthak Ranjan also added a quick 42 off 33 as well. Arjun Rapria provided the last portion of fireworks as he scored extremely well in the last over to finish with a brisk 40 from 22 balls. While West Delhi Lions bowled excellently, mainly through Mayank Gusain 3/23 (4) and Shubham Dubey 2/26 (4), who were outstanding with the ball, North Delhi Strikers managed to make a very defendable total.

WDL required 166 runs to win and made a poor start, losing both of their openers in the first 3 overs. Ayush Doseja’s 65 (54 balls) kept their hopes alive, and Krish Yadav contributed 23 from the top order. The NDS bowlers struck at key moments, with Deepanshu Gulia, 3/43 (4), proving the most damaging, along with Vikas Dixit, 1/28 (4). A late flurry of runs from Tishant Dabla, not out 12, could not save WDL as they lost the match by 11 runs.
