Batting first, the New Delhi Tigers managed a low total of 138/8 from their 20 overs, having been held back by Manan Bhardwaj's strong performance (3-1-23-2) and Anirudh Chowdhary's bowling (2-26). In response, the Lions had a disastrous start at 1 for 1 and then recovered to 61/2 from 7.1 overs thanks to a very quick start that saw Ankit Kumar strike 25 and captain Nitish Rana score 8 runs from just 8 balls as rain came. The Lions bowlers were superb, particularly Manan Bhardwaj and Anirudh Chowdhary, who both took two wickets each.

Setting a revised DLS target of 154, the Lions openers had a great start with Ankit Kumar exploding for 25 runs in just 14 balls while Krish Yadav made a solid 7 off 7 balls. In the end, Ayush Doseja (13* off 15) and Nitish Rana (8* off 8) made sure that they got the Lions to 61/2 in 7.1 overs before the rain stopped play and sealed them a 15-run win by DLS.
