Former India keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik is all set to join Sharjah Warriorz for the upcoming fourth season of the International League T20 (ILT20). Karthik will be joining the franchise as the replacement of Sri Lanka’s Kusal Mendis. Ahead of the new season, Karthik is excited with the new opportunity he received. He describes it as the dream come true. The former international stated that it is a dream for him to play in an iconic stadium like Sharjah.
"I am very excited to be joining the Sharjah Warriorz team for the DP World ILT20 tournament. I know they are a young team, aspiring to do some special things, and I am happy to be here. Sharjah is also one of those iconic stadiums one always wants to play at. And to be a part of the franchise Sharjah Warriorz makes a dream come true," Dinesh Karthik said.
It is sensible why Sharjah Warriorz chose Dinesh as a replacement. Throughout his cricket career, he won multiple top-graded trophies, including the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy. As a player, he cherished his dream to be an IPL trophy winner back in 2013 with the Mumbai Indians.

A dream come true moment for Dinesh Karthik
In 2024, he took retirement from all formats of international cricket and then joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as their batting coach. During his tenure as the batting coach, RCB claimed their maiden IPL title in 2025.
Karthik will again work with all-rounder Tim David. When Karthik was with RCB for IPL 2025, David was one of their key figures who is now one of the overseas players for the Sharjah Warriorz in Season 4 of the ILT20.
