Game 40 of the WBBL 2025 featured the Sydney Sixers facing the Adelaide Strikers at the North Sydney Oval on December 7. The match was dominated by Ellyse Perry, who produced a brilliant all-round show. Perry scored an outstanding 111 off 71 balls and became only the second player in WBBL history to cross 5000 career runs.

Beth Mooney remains the only other batter to achieve this milestone, with 5446 runs. Perry, now sitting at 5072 runs, further strengthened her status as one of the greatest players the WBBL has seen.

During the innings, the Sixers made a confident start, led by Perry’s superb century. Sophia Dunkley supported well with a solid 54, guiding the team to a total of 173. For the Adelaide Strikers, Eleanor Larosa delivered an impressive spell. She was the only wicket-taker for her side, finishing with four wickets for just 20 runs in her four overs.
