The Emirates Cricket Board has made an important choice during the current Pakistan Super League 2026 season by bringing back two essential players who were playing for their teams. The situation shows how difficult it is for leagues to manage their operations when players need to join their national teams during T20 matches. The Karachi Kings have required Muhammad Waseem and Khuzaima bin Tanveer to go back home because they need to play in the Emirates D50 domestic tournament.
UAE players asked to leave PSL mid-season for national duty
The UAE board issued a direct order to both players who must exit the PSL and participate in the Emirates D50 2026 which serves as the country's main 50-over tournament. The tournament serves from March 30 until April 10 as an essential event which helps develop domestic players and assists national teams in their selection process.
The board decided to give priority to their participation because the PSL season was already in progress. Sources indicate that both players will participate in several matches before they go back to Pakistan although the franchise and the board have not made any official announcements.
