ENG vs IND 2025: 'Spent some time with...'- KL Rahul reveals secret of his century at Lord's
KL Rahul reveals secret of his century at Lord's during the ENG vs IND 2025 series.

On a dry and good batting surface, it was important for one of the Indian batters to stay for a long period and match the knock of England’s former captain, Joe Root. This time KL Rahul stood up for the Blue Brigade, and he used the same method as he did in 2021 in celebrating his very first red-ball century at Lord’s.
KL Rahul, after the end of the third day’s play, revealed that he spent some time with an expert who gave him some mental drills during the break, which helped him to stay calm for a longer period. He also drew a picture of how the various players use the same process in Formula One. This, according to him, had helped him in gaining the momentum of enjoying batting for long hours.

“I spent some time with an expert for some mental drills to improve my reaction times. Seen this in Formula One. Worked with coaches who work with F1 guys and adventure sports. That’s the only different thing. I always enjoy working long hours.” The right-handed opening batter expressed in the press conference at the end of the third day’s play.

Before this contest, the Bengaluru-born never smashed two Test centuries in a single series. The 33-year-old has been incredible for the Blue Brigade in the last 12 months, especially shouldering the role of batting at various positions of the line-up. He started at the opening position in Perth during the BGT 2024-25 before dropping to the middle order and later rejoining Yashasvi Jaiswal at the top.

Currently, the right-handed batter has smashed 3593 runs in 106 red-ball innings at an average of 35.23 and a strike rate of 52.99, shouldering on 18 half-centuries and 10 centuries at the best score of 199 in Chennai nine years ago. Rahul will be a crucial player for the young line-up in crunch situations, especially during the last two clashes in Manchester and the Oval.
India finished their first innings on 387, taking no advantage from the home side. They will now have to bowl well at the Ben Stokes-led side to get under an achievable total to earn a 2-1 series lead before the fourth fixture at Old Trafford.
