[WATCH] ENG vs IND 4th Test: Length delivery from Ben Stokes dismisses KL Rahul for 90

It had to be Ben Stokes. The captain struck at the right time when the team was looking for a breakthroughearly in the morning. A heartbreaking moment for KL Rahul and Indian cricket fans. He had to depart for 90 and missed another test ton for only 10 runs. A lengthy delivery from Stokes broke a cemented partnership between Rahul and India skipper Shubman Gill. 

The length ball from Ben Stokes was out from KL Rahul's expectations, as reflected from this position. He was in double whether to play it on the back foot or not. The ball didn't swing much, but the angle of the delivery and the seam movement pushed the India opener behind. At the last moment, Rahul tried to guide the ball on the leg side, but by then, it was too late. But only some millimeters—the bat did not meet the ball. The delivery ended on the right leg of Rahul; the umpire had no choice but to declare KL Rahul out. 

The batter was in disappointment; Rahul's facial expressions said all about his feelings. Before returning to the dugout, he turned his head to watch the giant screen. He had the choice to take a review, but it would be a waste, as his right leg was just in front of the timbers, and the ball was at his knee height. After facing 230 balls, he had to go with 90 with eight boundaries.

Stokes delivered despite injury threats 

Ben Stokes' impact in the contest is phenomenal. He claimed 5 wickets in the first innings before playing a 141-run innings. By the end of Day 4, he was not looking in a comfortable situation because of possible injury concerns. There were questions around the all-rounder before Day 5 about his bowling. 

Just before the day kicked off, Stokes did some bowling during the warm-up session. Then he was spotted in a comfortable way. Though, cricket experts were not sure if he could bowl or not. But when the matter is serious and the team needs his service, Ben Stokes steps up.
