He had to depart for 90 and missed another test ton for only 10 runs. A lengthy delivery from Stokes broke a cemented partnership between Rahul and India skipper Shubman Gill.

At the last moment, Rahul tried to guide the ball on the leg side, but by then, it was too late. But only some millimeters—the bat did not meet the ball. The delivery ended on the right leg of Rahul; the umpire had no choice but to declare KL Rahul out.
The batter was in disappointment; Rahul's facial expressions said all about his feelings. Before returning to the dugout, he turned his head to watch the giant screen. Stokes delivered despite injury threats

By the end of Day 4, he was not looking in a comfortable situation because of possible injury concerns. There were questions around the all-rounder before Day 5 about his bowling.
