More drama to stage at the center of The Oval? The question remains as rain and bad light forced umpires to wrap up Day 4 earlier than the actual schedule. England needs only 35 runs, and India needs 4 wickets to win the last and the series decider of the Anderson-Tendulkar trophy.
The 5th day will explore the winning side after a neck-and-neck competition between England and India. By the end of Day 4, the home team reclaimed the driving seat with centuries from Harry Brook and Joe Root. When these two batters were ruling the ground, it seemed another win for England was only some inches away.
But the newly formed Team India decided not to let the match go so easily. Prasidh Krishna took the wicket of Joe Root (105) moments after Akash Deep cleared Harry Brook (111) from the yard. Between the wickets of Brook and Root, Jacob Bethell fell short against Krishna only after continuing 5 runs. In a short period, the fall of 3 wickets poised the match for a thrilling end on the final day.
